About Misfortune

Misfortune is a passionate product of dedication, hard work and a love for storytelling. An idea originally conceptualised back in 2015 by writer Darcy O’Connor, Misfortune has since seen the attachment of director Tara Wise and producer Madeleine Thompson and survived intense development from the middle of 2016. After writing, and re-writing, what began as a tale of kidnap and murder has developed into a story deeply seated in the love of a mother for her daughter and the conflict that arises directly from this. A completely self-funded short film, Misfortune marks the introduction of a new creative team, with the trio pushing for the best of the best every step of the way. Undoubtedly, a good story can go a long way, and we hope to see you there, supporting, following and living this exciting journey with us, every step of the way.
